Our New Favorite Toy
Watermelon juice, dog drool, experiment goo-there is always a fresh mess on our floor. I finally decided to forgo my all natural cleaner obsession and buy a wet jet. I figured since it’d only take me a few minutes to use, I could probably have a clean floor on a daily (instead of weekly) basis. Guess what? I haven’t got to use it yet. Luke and Elan fight over whose turn it is to use it. I have to hide it from Luke or every time he sees it he thinks its time to clean the floor again. Love it! Something for cleaning that a boy loves. They should also make vacuums hooked up to video games, remote control robot dishwasher loaders, and maybe a doll whose head you use to clean the toilet bowl-my boys would love that. I think next I need a t-shirt bazooka like they have at basketball games-I could shoot the boys’ laundry upstairs to them.

Slow Ice Cream
Last night, Luke and I were on our own as Josh and the boys went to a Y-guides meeting. We took the little red wagon out for a spin. Luke rode on the way to the park, where we watched a golden spider building his web. That spider is a genius. On the way home, Luke thought it was momma's turn to ride ("hop on") and then decided I was too heavy. Regardless, he pulled the wagon all the way home, running most of the time (except for when examining lights for spiders and finding treasures) . At home, we washed a few dishes together. I love how he finds the joy in washing dishes. After that, we spent 30 minutes sharing an ice cream cone. It was the best ice cream cone-eating ever! Luke insisted we use our fingers to scoop the ice cream out of the cone. Cold, gooey, sticky giggling and laughing ensued, accompanied by many silly pictures. After chocolate face removal, we built a house from chairs and blankets, where we read books until the other boys arrived. It's amazing how much life a 2 year old can fit into a couple hours.
